This is due to the way nVidia R&D works. Iwas reading something in some 
magazine a few years back about them, and they have 2 teams with 6 months 
"lag", so when a new chipset is released, the next generation is already well 
developed.

The team with nothing to do can now start extending the previous teams work, 
and the cycle continues.

It's a good way to keep a steady flow of business going, but it's not really 
fair for consumers suffering from "hardware induced phallic extension 
syndrom" who spending a small fortune getting the latest gear.
