SEUL: Fwd: comments on frontpage
I've gotten a couple of good comments about the website. Nobody
has actually sent me bad comments about it.
Weird.

Ok, I'll admit that I'm not really going to print it out and frame it.
I exaggerated. But I wasn't being sarcastic, which is probably a first
for me. I've just been more and more frustrated by the dreck (both the
HTML and the visual effect) that is produced by the popular
point-n-click editors. The only way to get rid of the HTML dreck is
hand-editing, an increasingly lost art. The only way to get rid of the
visual dreck is a change of mind. It seems that in most cases, the
more effort someone puts into a web page, the uglier it gets. So a
clean (spartan, even) well-organized and aesthetically pleasant home
page came as a real shock. Thanks.

Well, one of the seul-pub people wrote up a framework with some windows
html editor (hotdog I think?), and then I started tweaking it from
there.
So for the most part, it's by hand, yes.
I've read your mail several times now, and I still can't figure out if
you're being sarcastic or not. :)
But in either case, do you have any suggestions for improving the
page/site?
Thanks,
