        For what i've gathered so far, the problem his configuring X easily
and without big hassles to the user.

        Why not (don't flame for the ideia, this is something that i just
thought of without thinking of potential problems...) have a web interface
using lynx and apache and some cgi's that would set up X, write cfg files,
test the configurations, etc. If my memory doesn't fail, debian creates a
directory for the installation process that is removed after Linux is
installed. SEUL could have the same thing with the things needed (minimal
apache without all those modules). I know lynx isn't particulary nice, but
it's a possibility....

        Another ideia, why not create a graphical interface using svgalib
(this one is even more far fetched since i don't quite know how svgalib works
with the different video cards) to create a nice looking thing that would
later be deleted... After all as soon as X is running the user should have no
more problems. Except of course if X cracks up. In that case i suggest that
it would be possible to enter linux (after reboot) in a way lyke when you
specify linux single on lilo prompt to fix some problem.
