mcedit LOOKs right ( i.e. colors, shift arrow to select.  and DROP DOWN
MENUS.
This is a nice editor, that needs only minor keybinding modifications 
( and making the copy boton put stuff in the buffer rather than
duplicating
it immediately ).  This could defiantly work.
Except for one little problem.  It is not a separate program but is
embedded
in the 1.7 Meg 'mc' executable.
To the programers;  Can it be extracted and compiled separately ?
MC is GPL so this sort of thing is Legal.
