SEUL: a Simple End User writes

I would like to introduce myself as a potential SEUL user.  I last
installed Linux in '94; I haven't been running it, but I have been
following the progress of Linux at a distance and I am ready to have
another look at it.  I realize the project is at an early stage and that
this is probably not going to be the easiest way to install Linux (in
comparison with, for example, getting Red Hat or buying a pre-installed
system), but it looks like a good idea and I would like to be in a position
to offer some feedback.  

I have looked at Stampede, and I am not currently tempted to get involved
with it.  It appears that Debian has very similar long-term goals to the
SEUL project, and I have read the news item
http://WWW.debian.org/news.html#19980125c which suggests to me that these
two efforts may ultimately merge in some way, but in the mean time SEUL is
a concept that I am keen to look into right now.

So where should I start?

I have had a good look round www.seul.org.  I have ready a very ordinary
Pentium desktop with no unsupported hardware, and I am nearly ready to
start downloading.  If the directory
ftp://ftp.shorelink.com/pub/seul/devel/disks announced by George Bonser is
the place to start and I'm on my own from there, I will give it a go; I
just need confirmation.

Ideally, I would like to talk to the appropriate person about what I might
contribute to the SEUL project and how.  I have tried to keep this message
short because this list might not be the most appropriate place for it.
