To the coders: 

At a first stage, why  don't  you  just  plainly  skip  all  of  the
MS-related  coexistence  tech  issues  and focus the approach onto a
SEUL which will format the  disk  and  install itself on the 'fresh'
area (i.e.  the same approach that MS has).  This may speed  up  the
process  as  it  imposes  less technical difficulties.  Once SEUL is
ready, you could set up a group which will make the app to check for
other OS'es and do the  coexistence  work.  This later tool could be
integrated later on.

Just a thought.
