LinuxWorld Article :: Reverse-engineering the GNU Public Virus

There is an article in LinuxWorld dealing with subltle "discrimination"
in the GNU public licensing. It kinda follows a point raied in earlier
discussion dealing with the cost of software and componets used to
create it.

Summary
The GNU General Public License works to protect the creative
process from the creeping propertization of information, but does it
strike the right balance? The GPL specifically permits publishers to
charge for distributing GPLd information, yet it prevents artists from
using copyrights to charge for their creative output. Stig Hackvän
investigates the phenomenon of the GPL's "mandatory cooperation" (3,500
words)
