Indeed - there are many such initiatives worldwide
- though only one is currently linked from seul/edu

The problem here in the UK is that councils (local government)
/will/ have an obligation to recycle such things in the future
but until this comes into force, few of them are interested
in actually doing so.

Nevertheless there are a few interesting schemes organised
at a local level by various charities :)

A good point - however in this case it is
understandable that people are kicking up a bit of
a fuss.

Following on from Richard Stallman's visit to
South Africa, which had a number of positive
outcomes, the SA government's chief scientific 
advisor recomended "Open Source".

The very next day Mr Gates met with the South African
president and the deal was announced. Until that moment
MS SA were unaware of it :-/
