I just found this:

"Yum is an automatic updater and package installer/remover for rpm
systems. It automatically computes dependencies and figures out what
things should occur to install packages."
This as along the lines of APT-RPM, but the maintainer of Yum thinks he
has a better system. Since one of the problems we'll have to solve for
RPM-based systems is automatic installation of dependencies, I think we
should look at both these systems.
