Michael, thank you for introducing an interesting angle to our discussions on 
seul-edu (the ever thought-provoking mailing list :-)

I willingly accept your offer to participate in the SIF Initiative. If this 
works out, I intend to informally represent the open source sector, i.e.: how 
to interoperate both commercial and open source educational software with a 
common XML DTD. I checked the SIF out several times (most recently last week) 
and still find it to be very US-centric; I also intend to push for 
internationalisation because, clearly, being country-specific is yet another 
proprietary obstacle to interoperability.
