I'll admit I hadn't even really considered application content.  In my
mind the shares were basically empty when first set up.  Great.  Something
else to think about.  :)

In the back of my mind, the real goal would be to have a generic setup
using diskless linux boxes as workstations and open sourced apps such as
abiword, gnumeric, the K applications, mozilla, etc.  I want something
that a school district can use without any licensing concerns.  For now,
though, I'm just working on the server setup.

This can be easily accomplished within k12admin.  Servers can be
configured on a per school or per server basis.  One school can have
multiple servers with different setups on each server, or one server can
serve two schools with different setups for each school.  Some of this is
still in progress, but the basics are there.  For example, there is a "No
Personal Web Page" group.  Also, there is an option to not create home
directories on a per server basis.
