Re: developing a K12 Linux distribution

As I have stated before, talk of a "k12" distro is self destructive.  We
don't have enough applications available yet to make this viable, plus many
of us are well versed in our favorite distribution.  I use slackware a
quite a bit, and also deal with debian, FreeBSD, suse, and redhat, (I feel
redhat has tried to GUI way too much of the software).  It would be much
better to work on an installation setup for a large group of small packages
of educational software (I am about 3/8 of getting linux educational
software to compile correctly, I have been working on figuring out what is
wrong...)

I say, leave the distributions alone, focus on getting the applications
ready for prime time.
