I use Red Hat 7.0/7.1 here as part of the official curriculum (the Linux
curriculum we use here at DATC will be updated and out by the end of the
week; you're welcome to use it if you like.)
On the other hand, I use SuSE 7.1 on our Internet workstations - it is far
more secure than Windows if you keep up with the patches :)
