Not necessarily true--if the person runs some type of linux server as a
system administrator, maybe--since it isn't typical for University / High
School students to get that type of exposure to a *nix environment.

Not necessarily true here either.  It is true however, that most large
companies use some type of Unix backend--most notably Wal-Mart

"Users" are not in short supply--it is much more likely that  this is true
of experienced Unix system administrators.  Also, regardless of whether one
knows Unix or not, people can be laid off if they do not perform up to par.
