Hey maybe it's time to ask Finland to take her Karelia back. ;-)

Hello!
I've just heard that every school in countryside of our
region (Russian Karelia) will get a computer with Microsoft
Windows 2000 preinstalled. The decision was made in Moscow,
not locally, so I had no say in it.
And all this in the time when there already is Free OS
(Linux) + Free Office - StarOffice 5.2, russian edition!
Thus the Institute I used to work for also wants
Windows 98/2000 - killing all hope for our society
to be free from software monopoly.
BTW, have you noticed the increase of virus-containing
letters? Last year I had none - this year already 3.
People are starting to seek other solutions.
Sincerely yours, Roman Suzi
