Re: [seul-edu] members and supporters

Thoughts on "member" and "supporter" concepts:
MEMBER:
The expression "member" may be (1) self-identifying as
embracing a concept, or philosophy, (2) being accepted to
a mailing or information distribution list, (3) a person
or organization who tenders to an organization a minimum
set fee in exchange for goods or services. If the
receiving organization accepts the tender for membership
and provides the payer the rights of membership based on
its charter or bylaws - then the payer is a member.

SUPPORTER:

The expression "supporter" (1) indicates a relationship
between contributor and benefactor(s) - provide
financial aid, labor, materials or services for
the "cause", organization or individual that is the
benefactor. (2) A supporter may or may not identified as
a "member" of the benefactor's group(s.)
