"Sorry about that tirade?"  Don't apologize, it was WONDERFUL!  I always
suspected what you have now confirmed, that it would be no harder for
someone who has never used a computer to use Linux vs Windows (but
perhaps a sample-size of three is not statistically significant).

This brings us full-circle then, doesn't it?  An Edu distribution would
prepare the UI for student use.

Which reminds me - I've been searching high and low for a Linux book I
could give to our teachers, but most Linux books are heavily focused on
installing linux - not using it.  I've already installed it - now they
need to use it, and they want a book.  I also notice that the plethora
of books written about Windows are NOT about installing it, but rather,
about using it.  Seems like a simple end-user linux book would be the
sort of thing SEUL would promote (if only one existed).

I finally decided that since we're using KDE, I should look at a KDE
book, not a linux book.  I'm evaluating the Sam's KDE book right now
(the exact title escapes me, but it's something like "KDE 1.1 in 24
Hours").  I'll just have to tell them to ignore the installation
chapter, but still - a lot of the book focuses on the sort of things
that should be done as root.  It still looks better than anything else
I've come across, but if anyone has a recommendation, I'd love to hear
from you.
