Re: [seul-edu] Seul-edu list for California,or international audience ?

Hi Jonathan,

I agree that the Linux in education is the subject of interest. I am
making a local attempt to reach out to local Colleges and universities
as a way of getting more interest in Linux. The purpose of an
installfest is to promote installing Linux, and removing the "FUD"
placed on Linux by "M$"

I can hope that someone might see that the installfest, while local for
me, can also be local for you. It does not need to be an intimidating
thing, just find a few Linux users locally, (I have like 5-6 on this
list in driving distance of Stockton that i know of) and a place that
folks can come to. If you promote it to the local colleges,
Universities and Secondary schools, you have a very easy group to
reach. You can also, by reaching them, make steps toward getting Linux
in use in schools.

I think I have covered the issue, but please, consider, heartily, the
notion of promoting an Installfest locally (to yourself) and see if it
helps the schools to consider Linux.
