'sysinfo' programs?

I sent this first to badlandz at freshmeat, but he didn't
know of any useful applications. Figured I'd throw it off
to some other people and see if anything comes of it. :)

I figured I'd check with somebody who spends more time
keeping track of new applications than I do.

Are you aware of any good gui utilities these days that
present a full list of system info (like "norton sysinfo"
from the old dos/windows days)? Something that would figure
out what cpu you have, how much ram you have (and in what
combination, maybe, from bios, i dunno) disks and their
stats and vendors, kernel version, major apps currently
installed, which ports/etc are being used by which hardware,
and tells it to you in a nice interface? At the least, it
could look at the stuff in /proc and dmesg and make it
presentable.

I suspect the kde group might have one in the works, but
i also suspect it would require a lot of digging and
searching. :(

Thanks,
