Alternate applications
Although we may provide support for alternate desktops, is it a good
idea to provide help for alternate applications:
As an example: KDE comes with an email reader - kmail. A user may download
another email reader (eg. netscape). Should we provide the ability to link this
new application (email reader) into the help system. i.e. When the user seeks
task help for email they get the option for both kmail and netscape?
It would be simpler to only provide linked help for the standard setup for the
desktop. We could provide information for common alternatives (which nsmail
might be.) Or we could provide the complicated (but smooth!) solution. I would
suggest at the moment choice number two.
Any comments?
