That's "quickly"?
Ok, that's from _very_  slow to _very_ fast...
Well, i assumed interstellar travel capabilities.

BTW, if you want to manoveur (change your momentum) in the open space, or in 
any other very low-density space, you need propellant, lot of propellant, and 
you need to shoot it out *fast*.
In a small space fighter (i'm thinking to X-wing) this may be a problem.
If you are out of it, you are in the hands of your actual speed.
