SDL was developed by one of the (ex)Loki coders, I expect that Loki have an 
arrangment with the author which allows them to static link SDL. The same 
thing covers OpenAL (which AFAIK several Loki games use - SimCity3k does, 
but that's the only loki game I own so I can't speak about the rest), which 
is also a Loki started/in-house development.
