Re: LI as domain holder for open projects
Ok, finally we can move on in this issue (there were some communication
problems with the gamedev.net people).
Drew, here's what the gamedev.net people (who'll host the lgdc.org domain)
said about the registration data:
----
"They will have to change their name server entries at Network Solutions (or wherever they got
their domain) to our name servers and list us as the technical contact. Our email address is
domains@zwave.org and assigned nic handle is DM588-ORG. Our name servers are NS1.ZWAVE.COM and
NS2.ZWAVE.COM. With this info they can get their domain records set to us."
----
And here's an improved domain purpose statement:
<suitspeak>
The purpose of the lgdc.org domain is to be used for collecting resources
about Linux game development in particular and open source game
development in general, and to provide this information to the open source
community.
</suitspeak>
And the v1.1 reallocation condition:
<suitspeak>
If the group using and maintaining the lgdc.org domain fails to meet the
domain's purpose (and fails to rectify that situation after notification
by Linux International), Linux International may seize control of the
domain and give it to a group more capable/willing to meet the domain's
purpose.
</suitspeak>
Still not perfect, but it should be good enough...
Paul, what's the situation at your front? when can we setup the mirroring?
