On my system r3p calls up _2_ times before connecting. It's rather annoying
since it costs me about 0.25 kroners everytime I lift up the receiver. 

When I start kppp it complains that my kernel doesn't have ppp support compiled
in, but not the second time I start kppp in a session, always the first time.
But kppp works ok! Strange.
