I finally got Mandrake installed and running better than Slackware. It only
took a week, as opposed to a month with slackware. Slackware uses Postfix
instead of Sendmail by default, which is much, much easier to configure.
Indy probably has no need of either of those though.

    Mandrake comes with both Sketch and Killustrator. I tried them both out
and they are currently pretty comparable. Except Sketch is under development
and extensible (meaning user developed plug-ins should follow), whereas
Killustrator seems to have been sidelined for several years now.

    The only substantial differences I noticed was that there is no polygon
tool in Sketch, however Killustrator cannot export as .pdf

    In this instance it might be best to include them both since
Killustrator is bundled with Koffice and KDE. But I think that it will be
Sketch that moves ahead faster and becomes the more useful product.
