dos scripts

Hello guys,

To begin notice that I am not an english speaking people by nature, so
please be indulgent...

I am gonna start to write a dos script that defragment a win/dos disk,
run fips, and load a linux kernel using loadlin.  

I know that what I want to do has been started many times (I read the
dev-install-list archive from seul), but this time I will do this
without prior discussions about, in hope I will do something useful
before the discussion start. The problem is that I have not much knowing
in programming dos/win, and I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so what
have been done on the subject could be useful (for example what the
other distribs do), so if you have docs about those two subjects, please
tell me.

(hope it isn't too much ambitious :).
