Freezing
I am freezing the distrib. There are things I have had to left out
like fixing the brain-damaged SMB printing in RedHat, servers for smal
organizations and I much fear we will have only one MMX-enhanced games
but we will try to do better in next version. A thing I am grossly
unhappy is that the tool for configuring PPP at install time is
mediocre. I am not sure I will be able to improve it before
releasing.
The immediate tasks besides debugging: are preparing for announce (ie
writing it and discovering how to post in freshmeat and similar places).
About the theme of the announce I think in something along the lines:
"revolt of the commons and need of creating a Linux culture distinct
of Unix because the Linux user has different needs". I also want to
emphasize the fact this intends to be _our_ distribution made by Linux
users thinking in Linux users not something coming from above (like in
the other distribs :-)
