[Computerbank] Last Chance - AUUG 2006 Conference starts this Tuesday

Hi Folks,

One last update for the AUUG 2006 Conference.

I'll be helping out with the registration desk on Tuesday so I might see
you there if you plan on attending.

Cheers,

Kylie

------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the third and final update in a series of previews of AUUG
2006 - The Conference for Unix, Linux and Open Source Professionals.

In previous weeks we've highlighted the keynotes and the tutorials.
This week we are focusing on a few of the remaining presentations.

Greg Adamson will be presenting a paper "Technology Commercialisation
and the Internet", in which he argues that the Internet can be
considered an example of what happens to a technology-based service
when technology selection is not determined through a commercialisation
process.

Tobias Eggendorfer is a research scientist at the University of
Federal Armed Forces in Neubiberg. He will be presenting a paper
comparing the efficiency of SMTP and HTTP 'tar pits' for fighting spam.

Karl Auer planned and implemented the introduction of dynamic addressing
at ETHZ, Switzerland's largest university, until he moved back to
Australia recently. He will be presenting a paper "Address Management
for Biggish Networks" about his experience there.

There will also be a talk about wireless insecurity with Neal Wise
from Assurance.com.au and another called "Hacked slugs, solving all your
problems with little NAS boxes" by Michael Still from Google.
This talk will discuss how to get your own version of Linux running
on a Linksys NSLU2, known to the Linux community as a 'slug'. This is a
small and inexpensive consumer grade network attached storage (NAS)
system.

AUUG2006 will be held at Rendezvous Hotel in Flinders Street,
Melbourne from Tuesday 10th October to Friday 13th October. For more
