[Computerbank] East Timor

Hi, I have just been given your contact details as I put out a call for
contacts within the office and someone suggested your organisation.

I work within the Department of Family and Community Services (in Darwin)
and we are hosting two gentlemen (social workers) from the Department of
Social Services, Ministry of Labour and Solidarity in East Timor (the new
East Timorese Government).  Gil da Cruz and Domingos Belo are here for two
weeks visiting various government and non-government agencies doing similar
work to their Division - welfare work with women, children, people with
disabilities, people in the court system, the aged, people resettling from
outside East Timor (humanitarian grounds).  You name it!

They have a huge task and only 13 staff.  Apart from that, they have spoken
of their dire need for more reliable communication.  They have two
functioning computers.  Various donors have sent them their 'junk' (old
outdated computers that are not capable of handling the internet).

I am looking for functional, recent model computers to assist these
gentlemen in their work.   The Minister from their Department is willing to
make a formal approach to whatever organisation is able to offer help.  Can
you tell me whether your organisation would be able to help out?
