[Computerbank] [cai-sa] February report
Still running around like headless chooks with much to organise for premises
and WFTD.....see below for reports on those:)
Volunteers & Members:
Still waiting on promised forms:)
Recipients & Enquiries:
We have had several enquiries, and waiting list currently stands at 6. Two
forms sent out that havent been returned.
No systems will be delivered until premises are moved into now.
Two recipients trained in Feb, one who had received her system in dec.
Income & Expenditure:
Report to be issued seperately.
Donations:
More bits and pieces, and several 486s etc. Lots of stuff to be sorted, of
interest, several UPS we are testing slowly:)
We are desperate for ram, pentium machines, video cards and hdds.
We urgently need someone to pick up a large donation in the city...petrol
reimbursed, naturally.
Hardware:
We have arranged out first reccyling pickup highly successfully. Now all our
dud and unusable stuff is recycled greenly instead of hanging around awaiting
an ethical fate - those of us who are overwhelmed with storing hardware are
extremely happy:)
Premises:
The Hut has approved our application - YAY!
However, as the first outside group they have rented to, there is no
procedure, so we are having to overcome hurdles as they arise, which is
certainly slowing the process. But we are hopeful all will be resolved in
next few weeks. Please, anyone who wishes to help in the move, please
consider letting me know early, so we have an idea of numbers:)
We will use our move as an occasion to have a gala opening, and call for the
press to come along. Hopefully the publicity will help get more donations of
much needed systems...486s are lovely, especially for networks, BUT we need
higher for recipients, its just a reality. We certainly have a lot of 486s
heading our way, to add to the ones we have....
WFTD:
All is going well there, we are submitting as soon as Hut finalised,
documentation looking good, all is looking positive to be on target:)
Projects:
East Timor - (Project coordinator, Peter Gossner)
Report to be issued seperately.
Web and Graphic Stuff:
REMINDER!!!!!!!!

site atm...all and any wanting to join in - PLEASE!
Owen Baldock has been doing amazing work on logos..please input ideas etc
asap! Anyone wanting to participate in the great logoing, contact Dylan Roper

As usual, the same theme to wrap up on:
Of course, we encourage EVERY volunteer/member to get involved, so if you feel
you want to participate in any of these very time consuming busy jobs,
please, join in! Contact me or any project coordinator. Start a project. Find
our what coordinator roles need filling. Suggest a coordinator role. GET
INVOLVED at a higher level than just the fun of hardware;)
